Please follow posted open space trail rules for your safety, that of others, and to preserve nature in these special places.
When you use an open space trail, it's a good idea to carry a well-charged cellphone. Reception is good on all trails if you need to call for help.
Call 911 in an emergency. Tell the dispatcher:
- What your emergency is; and
- Where you are located to the best of your ability.
The Open Space Commission, with the Old Lyme Land Trust, has prepared an Emergency Responders' Book with maps of various properties to help rescue personnel quickly find you if you are in distress and need assistance.
