The final 2022 Affordable Housing Plan (PDF) as adopted by the Board of Selectmen on May 25th. A web-based overview is available.
Background
The Old Lyme plan was prepared in partnership with the Lower Connecticut River Valley Council of Governments (RiverCOG), who are preparing a regional housing plan including market priced as well as affordable housing that will be linked to the local affordable housing plans from the region.
The first of two community workshops to discuss the work in progress toward preparing the Affordable Housing Plan for Old Lyme was held on February 15th 2022. Housing and demographic data was reviewed, and the most recent thinking on a housing strategy to meet current and future needs was presented. After the presentation, a live pulse poll was conducted, followed by an open discussion including questions and answers.View the Presentation and Poll results (PDF). Unfortunately, due to a technical problem a recording is not available.
The second workshop was held on March 29th 2022. After a recap of the first workshop, a proposed strategy and action plan for making progress toward increasing the availability of affordable housing in Old Lyme was presented, and another pulse poll was conducted, followed by an open question/answer and discussion session. The presentation with poll results (PDF) is available, and a full recording of the workshop can be viewed on Youtube.
