At the Monday, June 3rd Board of Selectmen's meeting, we approved the formation of the Road and Public Safety Committee. Please read the charge of the committee on our website. We are asking for interested residents to serve. At this time we are seeking two residents from each area of town. These areas are specified on the website. Applications for this committee are available online.
On Tuesday, members of the Emergency Operations Center team, under the direction of Emergency Management Director Dave Roberge, participated in an official Millstone Drill. These drills are 4-5 hours long and our team is evaluated by FEMA representatives from New England, as well as a Dominion evaluator. This is the second time I have had the opportunity to work with this talented group of volunteers. Old Lyme is in good hands if an emergency or natural disaster occurs.
I had the opportunity to tour the Senior Center this week. The interior walls have been removed and only the framing remains. Contractors continue to work on the exterior of the building. Our weekly meetings allow David Lahm (First Selectman – Lyme) and me the opportunity to ask questions and review financial updates. The project is coming along well. Jeri Baker, Chair of the Building Committee, holds “Building Buzz” meetings on the last Tuesday of each month at 11:15AM at the Town Hall for those who would like to learn more.

Many thanks to Eagle Scout Kyle Ingersoll-Bonsack for making the new picnic tables for Cross Lane Park. The Board of Selectmen were pleased to help support this project, which benefits the town for years to come. We are so proud of the number of young people who are inspired to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
Please note that we have a job posting for an Administrative Assistant to the Building Department. If you are interested in a part-time job, please consider applying.
