Parking Permits for Hains Park, White Sand Beach and Sound View are available for purchase online. We appreciate the many residents who have purchased their permits already and taken the time to become familiar with this new system. White Sand Beach and Sound View Beach will be opening on Memorial Day Weekend. At the present time, we are not anticipating that the parking lot on Hartford Avenue will be open this weekend.
The Assessor's Office would like to remind everyone that the 2024 Town Wide Revaluation is still in progress and Data Collectors are in town visiting properties. Schedulers are in the process of calling to set up building inspections for active and completed building permits. If you have received a message and need to follow up please call Munival at 203-292-5500. For more information and up to date inspection areas visit Assessor's page.
We have a new vacancy in the Building Department. The position is for a Part-Time Administrative Assistant.
Finally, Town Hall became aware of a traffic jam at 3:45PM on Tuesday afternoon. It is our understanding that one of the paving machines broke down near the intersection of the Exit 70 off ramp and Route 156. We were also informed (Wednesday morning) that an accident had occurred around the same time on Interstate 95. We try very hard to keep you informed of congested roads once information is confirmed. We appreciate residents contacting our office if they know of an issue. This allows us to reach out to emergency services to gain more information and provide it to you via our website. If you would like to be notified about traffic issues, please sign up for CT Travel Alerts.
All my best,
Martha
