Emergency Management

The Old Lyme Office of Emergency Management urges all residents to prepare for this upcoming weather event. Individuals in low lying shoreline areas should take precautions for possible low level flooding. Materials for sand bags are available (in front of the gates) at the Public Works garage on Machnik Drive for residents. Please be advised that some assembly is required for those needing sandbags.

Lymes' Senior Center Rockettes Trip

Saturday, December 2 the Senior Center has a trip planned to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York City, starring the world-famous Rockettes. There will be time to grab a bite to eat prior to the 1pm, 90 minute show (no intermissions). The cost is $238 per person (all ages welcome), and full payment is due when registering (cash/check only). Call the Senior Center (860) 434-4127 ext. 2 to register or for more information.

Old Lyme Town Hall Meeting Rooms

We are happy to be hosting many of the Senior Center Activities for the next year as the Center is renovated and expanded. However, that means the Town Hall meeting rooms will be in use for these additional events, so please be sure to look at the Meeting Hall Calendar and get your request in early.

Open Space Commission

Open Space has added a new listing to their Open Space guide; Horseneck Creek Landing. This three-acre property is jointly managed by the Harbor Management Commission and Open Space as a coastal forest/tidal wetlands natural area and the site of a planned future kayak dock. Autumn is always a nice time of year to explore the many trails here in Old Lyme.

Public Works - Road Work

Update: Next week Public Works will paint the center lines on Rowland Road, McCurdy Road, Beckwith Lane and Old Shore Road. Now that these roads are newly paved, we remind everyone to be mindful of their speeds.
