Please note there will be paving work on Rowland Road between Tuesday, September 5th and Tuesday, September 12th.  

Holiday Closing Schedule

The Town Hall will be closed Monday, September 4th, in observance of Labor Day. The Transfer Station will also be closed and there will be no trash or recycle collection on Monday. The CWPM collection schedule will adjust to the following day for the rest of the week. If Monday is your normal trash or recycling pick-up day, please be ready for a Tuesday pick-up, and so on.

Parks & Recreation News

The summer programs have concluded, and fall registration is in progress.  We want to thank Regional School District 18 for the use of their facilities over the summer and, as you can see, we made good use of the space. 

  • 264 Day Campers attended the 6-week Day Camp program (9am-2pm)
  • 50 After Campers attended our 6 Aftercare Programs  (2-345pm)
  • 35 Employees: Counselors, Supervisors & Camp Nurse – all current and/or former LOLHS students
  • 21 Volunteer Counselors-in-training: LOLMS students
  • 26 attended our Basketball Camp
  • 25 Campers attended our (new) Volleyball Camp

Open Space

A Hiker’s Happy Hour will be sponsored by the Open Space Commission, the Old Lyme Land Trust and the Old Lyme Inn on Wednesday, September 6th. The guided hike will begin at 4:15 pm in the McCulloch Family Open Space, beginning at the cul-de-sac at the end of Flat Rock Hill Road. 

Greater Old Saybrook Chamber 

Local business and organizations are invited to attend a morning networking event, on Thursday, at the Old Lyme Inn on September 14th from 8-9am, to introduce themselves and briefly explain their business.

Shoreline Gateway Presentation

The Shoreline Gateway Committee members will present the results of their Shoreline Gateway survey at the Board of Selectman's meeting on Tuesday, September 5th at 5:30pm in the Town Hall Meeting Room. Please come to hear the presentation and their vision for the future.

2023 Connecticut Natural Hazard Mitigation Public Survey 

The State's Emergency Management Division requests residents to assist in updating the State's Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. They have created a brief survey which Old Lyme residents are requested to complete. Please take a few moments to assist with this important endeavor.
