First Selectman's Newsletter

School is back in session, so we are once again sharing the roads with school buses and students waiting to board them.  Please be sure to stop when the bus warning lights are flashing.  Also, congratulations are in order for Region 18's Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year!

Parks & Recreation Fall Programs for Children & Adults

Registration has begun for the fall Parks & Recreation programs.  Work has started on the Cross Lane Park basketball and tennis courts - so the courts are closed to the public for the next several weeks.

Public Works

Signs will be going up early next week to inform residents that Rowland Road, McCurdy Road and Beckwith Lane will be repaved in September. Once done, please keep your speed in check.

Shoreline Gateway Committee

The Shoreline Gateway Committee members will present the results of their Shoreline Gateway survey at the next Board of Selectman's meeting on Tuesday, September 5th at 5:30pm in the Town Hall Meeting Room. Please come to hear the presentation and their vision for the future.

2023 Connecticut Natural Hazard Mitigation Public Survey Open Now

The State's Emergency Management Division requests residents to assist in updating the State's Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. They have created a brief survey which Old Lyme residents are requested to complete. Please take a few moments to assist with this important endeavor.

We welcomed our new Finance Director this week. Anita Mancini comes to us from North Branford where she was the number two person in their Finance Department. Enjoy the cooler temperatures this weekend.
