Notice of Democratic & Republican - Presidential Preference Primaries

Democratic and Republican Presidential Preference Primaries will be held on April 2, 2024. Only electors who are registered as a Democrat or a Republican are eligible to vote in these primaries. Listed below are the three ways for you to vote in the primaries.
Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots are available beginning March 12, 2024. Absentee ballots are available at the Town Clerk’s office or by applying through the Connecticut Online Absentee Ballot Request Portal. If you have any questions about voting by absentee ballot, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at (860) 434-1605 ext. 220 & 221.
Early Voting
For the first time, early (in person) voting will take place for the Presidential Preference Primaries. Early voting will take place at the Memorial Town Hall, Mezzanine Level, 52 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, CT. The hours of early voting are as follows:
- March 26, 2024 – 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- March 27, 2024 – 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- March 28, 2024 – 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- March 30, 2024 – 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Polling Place
Polling place voting will take place on April 2, 2024, for the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The polling place location is at the Lyme/Old Lyme Middle School Gymnasium, 53 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, CT.
