Old Lyme & Shoreline Weather – Potential Power Outages Sunday, Dec. 10 and Monday, Dec. 11, 2023
A strong frontal system will impact the region this afternoon through Monday morning. Expect a period of heavy rainfall and strong to damaging winds late today and into early Monday morning. Minor coastal and shoreline flood impacts are possible with the Monday morning high tidal cycle. Some sand bags and materials are available (outside the gates) at the Public Works garage on Machnik Drive. Please be advised that some assembly is required for those needing sandbags and more sand is available at the beach.
Check that your catch basins and storm drains on the street are free from debris. Minor coastal and shore flood impacts are possible with Monday morning’s high tidal cycle. Charge your electronic devices and prepare your homes and vehicles for power outages. Remember, do not drive over downed wires or around cones or barriers. They are in place for your safety and signify dangerous road conditions ahead. Listen to your local TV and radio news stations to stay current on the local weather forecast.
