Open Space Closed
As a public safety precaution, Champlain North Open Space will be closed to hiking beginning on Wednesday, June 11.
Eversource will remove decommissioned poles and take down telephone lines that run east/west through the town open space property.
Prior to this work, a tree service will remove some growth to enable the utility to better complete its work.
In consultation with the Town Tree Warden, Eversource will minimize the project’s environmental impact. Signs will be posted by Eversource on Champlain North Open Space warning of the work in progress.
When the power lines have been removed from Champlain North Open Space, a notice of the property re-opening will be posted.
Eversource will then continue its power line removal project on other properties in town, including Ames Open Space. New public notices will be posted regarding that work.
