Stay Safe this Hurricane Season by registering for Old Lyme Alerts
We Can’t Contact You if We Can’t Reach You
The Town of Old Lyme has launched Old Lyme Alerts. Residents and business owners register with their contact information in order to automatically receive messages from the Town about emergency situations. The contact information provided is protected and will not be used for any other purpose. Old Lyme Alerts registration cards are available in the Town Hall, OLPGN Library, and Lymes' Senior Center, or you can register online:Old Lyme Alerts
How It Works
When an emergency situation occurs (e.g. an impending storm, road closures, a health threat, police situation, or flooding), the Town will send you a message. The notifications will be sent received via text, e-mail, cell phone, home or work phone. You’ll receive the messages from the Town using the voice or text communication methods that you prefer.
Note: text messaging works even during power outages and loss of phone service.
The message will contain instructions on how to confirm receipt.
If you do not confirm, the system will automatically try to reach you using another registered contact method.
(e.g. If you do not confirm receipt of a home e-mail, the system will send the same message to your home phone, cell phone, another e-mail address or phone number you have provided).
Sign up for Notifications
When you register for emergency notifications, your contact information is added to the Town’s contact list for emergency notifications only. All the information you provide will be kept strictly confidential.
Stop Receiving Notifications
You can stop receiving at any time by removing your contact information from your profile – but please don’t. If there is a problem, let us know and we’ll try to correct it. We don’t want anyone to opt out of emergency notifications.
